(EPE), expanded polystyrene (EPS), and expanded polypropylene (EPP) are being extensively researched as alternatives to polyurethane (PU) microwave absorbers.  These materials have closed-cell structures, are moisture resistant, non-deforming, and possess superior mechanical strength compared to PU. They are manufactured by adding microwave-absorbing agents during the raw material processing and then compression molding, resulting in stable performance and desired product shapes.
